Software Tester vacatures in Amsterdam

A therapist opens the electronic patient record and everything just works. No broken button, no error message, no bug that makes an appointment disappear. That is your work. As an Automated Software Tester / QA Engineer at CRS in Amsterdam, you guard the quality of the software that mental-health care uses every day. You don’t tick off rows of test cases by hand, you put AI tooling and automation to work. The test coverage has plenty of room to grow, towards 90 percent and higher. And the test strategy is still a blank page. It is largely yours to shape.

What will you do?

You are the quality gate for every release. You decide what does and does not reach the customer. The better you test, the fewer errors a therapist in mental-health care runs into. That saves time and hassle, and that time goes back to the patient.

Your tasks:

• You write test cases for the happy path and the unhappy path, and you try to break the system before a customer does.
• Functional testing and smoke testing are part of your daily work, and you pick up integration testing where needed.
• You work inside the development team: planning, stand-ups and sharpening the acceptance criteria.
• Together with our external AI partner you agree who tests what and grow the coverage step by step.
• You keep your test cases up to date, clear out what no longer fits and record your work in clear test reports.
• In everything you keep sensitive patient data in mind: what may and may not go to AI.

At Health Cloud Initiative (HCI), more than 250 colleagues work towards one goal: better care, easily arranged. For over 25 years, CRS has been building software for mental-health and youth care, now with a strong AI acceleration. Our software takes work off therapists’ hands, so they have more time for their patients. As QA, you make sure that software really does what it promises.

You join the CRS development team that builds the electronic patient record. Part of it runs on a modern platform, part of it is still old. Old enough to grumble back at you now and then. The migration is underway, and that makes your work tough at times. Some things are broken and hard to fix, and a developer will sometimes tell you it really cannot be done. Your job is to hold the line, in a friendly but firm way. You work together with Diane, who tests today, and with an external AI partner that runs end-to-end tests. From August, the team is at the Amsterdam office on Wednesdays. Your manager is Femi, who knows the craft and gives you the room to shape the quality function yourself. If you get stuck, he simply pulls up a chair.

What do you bring?

You keep a cool head when a system fights back. You say it honestly when something is not good enough, even when a developer would rather move on. You record your work clearly and you work independently.

• Working and thinking level at bachelor’s (HBO) level and at least 5 years of experience in testing or QA.
• Experience with test automation, for example with tools like Selenium. Manual testing alone is not enough.
• You have your own test strategy or way of working and can bring others along in it.
• Knowledge of how an EPD or medical system works, or experience in another strongly regulated environment.
• You are comfortable with functional testing, smoke testing and part of integration testing, and with AI tooling.
• Proof of Conduct (VOG) as we work for healthcare.
