The Role: Front Desk Team Member

As part of our reception team, you'll be the face of Westlake Hotels Amsterdam, welcoming guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and memorable guest experience. You’ll work within a dynamic, international team in a fast-paced environment.

This is a flexible position offering 24–38 hours per week, depending on availability and business needs. The initial contract will be a 0-hour contract for 7 months, including a 1-month probation period.

You must be available to work weekends, as well as a mix of morning and evening shifts. Occasional night shifts may also be required when necessary.

Your Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and handle check-in/check-out efficiently
• Manage phone, email, and in-person guest inquiries
• Process bookings, cancellations, and changes using a PMS (MEWS experience is a plus)
• Liaise with housekeeping and maintenance to ensure guest satisfaction
• Handle payments and issue invoices accurately
• Offer local recommendations and assistance to guests
• Keep the reception area tidy and professional
• Report guest feedback and operational concerns to management

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience at a hotel or hostel front desk
• Fluent in English (spoken & written); additional languages are a bonus
• Comfortable with PMS systems (MEWS preferred)
• Strong multitasking and communication skills
• A team player who thrives in a people-focused environment
• Calm under pressure with a positive attitude
• Based in or near Amsterdam, with valid work authorization
• Flexible availability, including weekends, mornings, evenings, and occasional nights
