About everox

everox is pioneering the industrial-scale upcycling of waste concrete into drop-in substitutes for aggregates, sand and supplementary cementitious materials. Founded in 2016 by Delft Enterprises, Delft University, and GBN, we are on a mission to help decarbonize the construction industry and make 100% circular concrete possible.

We are now scaling from pilot operations in Rotterdam towards industrial production at our commercial facility in 's Gravendeel. Our Rotterdam facility plays an important role in developing and validating our process, while our commercial facility in ’s-Gravendeel marks the next major step in scaling our technology.

To support this next phase, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Process Engineer to play a key role in the commissioning, ramp-up, optimization and future development of our industrial facilities.

About the role

In the first phase of the role, your main focus will be supporting the commissioning and ramp-up of our commercial facility in ’s-Gravendeel. During the first 6 to 12 months, you will spend most of your time on-site, working closely with the Construction Manager, operators, contractors, equipment suppliers, and internal engineering team.

As operations stabilize, your role will increasingly shift towards process optimization, operational support, and translating lessons learned into improvements for existing and future everox facilities. Future international commissioning will remain part of the role as everox expands and develops new plants.

This role is ideal for someone who comes from a hands-on industrial plant environment and is equally comfortable behind a process flow diagram and on the plant floor. Relevant experience is essential: you know what it takes to troubleshoot equipment, work with operators and contractors and actively support commissioning in a real industrial setting.

You will work with industrial recycling processes involving bulk solids handling, separation and process equipment. A strong understanding of bulk solids handling and transport is important, as the behaviour, movement, transfer and reliability of solid materials directly impact plant performance.

What you will do

Commissioning & ramp-up

• Lead commissioning, start-up, and ramp-up activities at our commercial facility in ’s-Gravendeel and future everox facilities.
• Prepare and execute process test plans, commissioning procedures, and performance tests.
• Troubleshoot process and equipment issues together with the Construction Manager, operators, contractors, and suppliers.
• Support FATs, SATs, vendor acceptance testing, and the transition from project execution to stable plant operations.
• Analyse plant performance during ramp-up and recommend practical process improvements.

Process optimization & future development

• Design, develop, and improve everox recycling processes.
• Improve plant performance by increasing output and product quality while reducing material losses, energy consumption, downtime, and operating costs.
• Investigate process upsets, equipment underperformance, quality deviations, and reliability issues through structured root cause analysis.
• Translate operational learnings into improved process designs and technical standards for future facilities.
• Support scale-up activities and the development of next-gen technologies.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZOPs, and technical risk assessments.
• Develop process KPIs, operating procedures, commissioning documentation, and training materials.
• Share technical knowledge with operators, technicians, and junior engineers.
• Promote a strong safety culture and contribute to safe, reliable, and disciplined plant operations.

What you bring

• A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Relevant site experience in the cement industry.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in process engineering, commissioning, production engineering, plant performance, operations excellence or a similar industrial role.
• Proven experience actively participating in industrial plant commissioning, start-up, ramp-up and plant optimization activities on-site.
• Experience working directly with plant operations, operators, contractors, maintenance teams and industrial process equipment.
• Strong hands-on experience with bulk solids handling, solids transport and industrial processing equipment.
• Strong practical understanding of equipment such as conveyors, bucket elevators, mills, feeders and separators.
• Experience with Root Cause Analysis.
• Professional proficiency in English and at least B2-level Dutch.
• Willingness to work primarily on-site in ’s-Gravendeel during the first 6 to 12 months.
• Excited to travel occasionally in the future to support commissioning of new facilities.

Good to know

Due to the summer holiday period, first interviews for this role are expected to take place from the second week of August onwards.

The role is primarily based at our commercial facility in ’s-Gravendeel during the first 6-12 months. Regular on-site presence is essential for this position. After that, the working location is Rotterdam.
