GBS International B.V. is an international trading company based in Heerhugowaard, specialized in alcoholic beverages from well-known brands. With customers and suppliers in more than 50 countries, we are active in the global trade and distribution of premium beverages.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for an enthusiastic Junior Buyer.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a Junior Buyer, you will actively search for attractive purchasing opportunities within the international beverage market. You will maintain relationships with existing suppliers, approach new suppliers and negotiate prices and commercial terms. Together with our Traders, you will turn attractive purchasing opportunities into profitable trading opportunities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Approaching new international suppliers and further expanding our supplier network.

• Maintaining and strengthening relationships with existing suppliers.
• Analysing and comparing international offers, price lists and market information.
• Identifying attractive products, price movements and purchasing opportunities.
• Negotiating prices, volumes, payment terms and delivery conditions.
• Purchasing lots of alcoholic beverages from well-known international brands.
• Coordinating purchasing transactions and working closely with our Traders, logistics and finance teams.
• Travelling internationally and attending international trade fairs.

What Do You Bring?

• Fluency in English is required.
• Proficiency in Dutch and/or a second foreign language at a minimum B2 level is considered an advantage.
• A minimum working and thinking level equivalent to Dutch HAVO/VWO secondary education. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a commercial field is an advantage, but not required.
• Preferably 1–3 years of relevant experience in international trade, purchasing, sales or another commercial role.
• Strong commercial insight and the ability to quickly recognize attractive purchasing and trading opportunities.
• Good negotiation skills, persuasiveness and perseverance.
• A proactive and independent mindset.
• You learn quickly, set priorities effectively and are confident in making decisions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• You are able to commute to our office in Heerhugowaard on a daily basis; ideally, you live within approximately 30 km.

For this role, we consider your mindset and commercial aptitude to be at least as important as your education or work experience. You are curious, proactive and quick to recognise commercial opportunities. You enjoy building international business relationships, negotiate with confidence and have a good sense of price and timing. You do not need many years of purchasing experience. With the right drive, trading mindset and willingness to learn, you can develop quickly within GBS International.
