Hands-on Assistant Production Manager

The role is focused on operations, consisting leading and support on daily production and logistics operations while working alongside the team on the production floor. Furthermore, activities will take place in close collaboration with team leaders and management, to ensure smooth operational processes, product quality, and continuous improvement.

This is an ideal opportunity for a proactive leader and skilled professional who enjoys working in a dynamic food production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Daily planning and execution of production orders

  • Supervising and supporting production and logistics employees
  • Monitoring and reporting preventive maintenance activities
  • Performing daily production calculations and stock controls
  • Managing cold storage inventory and temperature monitoring
  • Inspecting incoming and outgoing goods for quality and quantity
  • Maintaining stock administration and processing picking lists
  • Coordinating with external cold stores, transport companies, and freight forwarders
  • Monitoring import documentation for sea freight shipments
  • Managing export documentation and shipment planning
  • Registering arrival and departure times of incoming and outgoing freight
  • Maintaining and improving HACCP and IFS quality standards
  • Contributing to process optimization and operational efficiency

Your Profile

  • 2–5 years of experience in production, logistics, or food manufacturing
  • Experience within the food industry is an advantage
  • Hands-on mentality with natural leadership skills
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality systems (HACCP / IFS)
  • Flexible and resilient in a seasonal business environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Accurate, responsible, and quality-oriented
  • Affinity with working in a family-owned business
  • Good command of Dutch or English
  • Polish language skills are considered an advantage
  • Willingness to travel temporarily to one of our international locations for training and knowledge transfer
  • Technical affinity and understanding of construction-related projects is a plus

The Offer

  • Permanent full-time employment (41 hours per week) with high and low seasons with the following working schema:

o Low season: Stable working schedule from Monday to Thursday/Friday between 07:15 – 16:00/17:00

o High season schedule: Additional Saturday morning work required

  • Competitive salary above industry standards
  • Irregular hours allowance of €31 net per four weeks.
  • Seasonal allowance of €52.50 net per four weeks during the high season.
  • A performance bonus of 10%, paid once every 12 weeks.
  • An attendance bonus.
  • Travel reimbursement of €0.23 p/km
