Introduction

Are you a student with background in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Physics? Do you have strong MATLAB experience both in programming and as an interface; Do you want to make an impact by contributing to the enhancement of our software toolbox? Then this internship might be interesting to you!

Background Information
Within ASML, the Development and Engineering (D&E) sector is responsible for the specification, design, integration, qualification, and sustaining of all ASML products. At the Performance & Integration department we predict and optimize how our scanners will perform in their natural habitat: our customer’s wafer fab. On top of that, we predict performance in future scanner designs by means of sophisticated simulation tools and create tests and analysis tools to assess the performance of scanners and facilitate an effective trouble-shooting process.

The code infrastructure is vital for our analysis tasks. This includes both modelling/processing/plotting functions but also the population dashboard. The population dashboard is the environment where we gather large data pool for statistic and control purposes

Your assignment

As an intern, you will primarily focus on enhancing our software toolbox and analysis codes, advancing our data visualization, modularization, and testing capabilities.

For this assignment you will:

  • Adapt our population dashboard to a new framework and database structure. For this you will deep dive into our existing systems, understand their current architecture, and transitioning them to a more robust and scalable platform;

  • Implement a visualization/analysis routine with the aim to make it actionable for our users;

  • Make our toolbox modular. Currently, our toolbox consists of several interconnected modules belonging to different competences. We aim to decouple these dependencies, allowing for individual use based on user access and requirements. This will enable different departments to utilize specific modules without needing access to the entire suite, enhancing efficiency and flexibility.

  • Manage accessibility and information management rights for the newly released modules, ensuring that we adhere to the company’s data governance policies;

  • Contribute to improving our regression auto-testing suite and artifacts handling (if time allows). You will work on cleaning up existing test codes, introducing new wrappers, and ensuring comprehensive coverage for the newly modularized functions.

Your Profile

To be a perfect match with this internship, you:

  • Are a student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics or similar;

  • Are a bachelor student looking for graduation project (thesis), or a master student looking to gain work experience (apprentice internship);

  • Have strong MATLAB experience both in programming and as an interface;

  • Have database programming knowledge, mostly for data manipulation (SQL);

  • Have awareness of test-driven and analysis-based design.

Other requirements you need to meet:

  • You are enrolled at a school for the entire duration of the internship;

  • You are available for 6 months, for minimum 4days per week (32 hours per week). Flexible start date in 2024.

  • You need to be located in the Netherlands to be perform your internship. In case you ‘re currently living/studying outside of the Netherlands, please include in your CV/motivation letter willingness to relocate.
