Americold is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of Marketing and Communication Specialist. In this key position, you will be at the forefront of shaping Americold’s brand image through innovative content creation, event management, and support for various marketing initiatives. Content Management (40%)
Manages Americold’s content activities. Creates customer-oriented, innovative, and industry-leading content for use in responses to customer requests, external and internal events, social media, and other company activities. Our Marketing and Communication Specialist is an experienced writer, skilled at creating customer-oriented pitches, descriptions, presentations, and articles across a wide variety of print and digital formats, adjusting language and theme, as appropriate, for each. The position requires exceptional writing, editing and presentation creation skills and proven project management capabilities.

Event Management (40%)_*
End-to-End ownership of Americold’s participation in external conferences and exhibitions, large customer meetings, internal meetings and events, and facility ground breakings and grand openings. Ownership includes but is not limited to event selection, Americold appearance guidelines, event support vendor selection and rate negotiation, target audience identification, pre- and post-event communications, lead-in and lead-out activities and surveys, onsite event activities, and internal and external event promotions.

Other Responsibilities (20%)_*
Provides support in Branding initiatives, market, and industry research as well as PR and advertising.

Essential Functions*
Content Management

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading copy capabilities.
  • The ability to take original facts, statements, content, and images and create compelling internal and external copy.
  • Maintaining Americold’s brand standards throughout all created materials.
  • Managing content library information to ensure accuracy by establishing regular feedback/refresher activities with subject matter experts.
  • Being responsible for the development and maintenance of both project specific and general marketing presentation materials to ensure brand esthetics, quality, and integrity of material content.
  • Managing Americold’s HubSpot environment, customer communications, along with associated landing pages etc.
  • Meeting project deadlines by effectively prioritizing activities and setting and monitoring target dates with contributors.

Event Management_*

  • Ownership and primary contact of and for Americold’s external conference and event show calendar, facility openings, and select internal events – evaluation and determination of correct shows and events to participate in, service partners/vendors to work with, and show equipment/support to use.
  • Negotiate cost-effective fees for equipment and services from service partners/vendors and coordinates necessary activities with providers to ensure successful Americold representation. Follow-up evaluation of service partners/vendors and identification/selection of new service partners/vendors as appropriate
  • Identify and/or develop appropriate sales collateral for customer and associate giveaways, presentations, panel discussions, follow-up surveys etc. all adhering to company brand standards.
  • Own event budget, maintain a minimum of a cost-neutral approach but seek opportunities to come in under budget.
  • Responsible for evaluation/review of Americold equipment’s performance, recommends areas for improvement, and owns process for implementing approved changes/updates.

Other Responsibilities

  • Partner with APAC and US marketing and communication teams to deploy global initiatives regionally.
  • Participate in ongoing website, intranet and Sharepoint tool content development and overall administration implementing new ideas, efficiencies, and interest-generating materials and processes.
  • Partner with other departments on various communications and projects as required.
  • Identify and study industry data and research to develop new prospect opportunities in the food and beverage, and support Business Development activities with appropriate material and information as needed.
  • Follow-up with ROI activities such as lead count, opportunity identification, performance survey, and overall event score determination.

Qualifications & Experience:*

  • Excellent writing and editing abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred.
  • 7 plus years of work experience in marketing.
  • 3 plus years of experience in a similar role.
  • 2-3 years of tradeshow, exhibition and event coordination experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office software, specifically PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of the internet and social media as marketing tools.
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • Graphic design skills are a plus.
  • Familiarity with At-Event, HubSpot and is a plus.
  • Experience in the Supply Chain, Warehousing, Distribution, Transportation or Operations industries is a plus.
