As a Product Safety Wizard at Big Ass Battery, you're not just here to dot the i's and cross the t's—you're the safety wizard who ensures our cutting-edge battery systems are as safe as they are revolutionary! During innovation and pioneering, not everything goes according to the "ideal path" and as Product Safety Wizrd you will create this path within Big Ass Battery! You play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of the company's innovative battery energy storage systems. Your responsibilities would span the entire lifecycle of these systems, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to identify hazards, design safety measures, and ensure compliance with safety standards. We strive for the highest safety standards and your expertise is very important in achieving and maintaining these standards for all our systems now and in the future! Here's a breakdown of what your role would entail:

Safety Assessments and Risk Analysis

• Conduct detailed assessments to identify potential risks and hazards in the design, operation, and lifecycle of battery energy storage systems.
• Perform thorough risk analyses to anticipate safety concerns and develop mitigation strategies.

Translating Safety Standards into Design Requirements

• Interpret relevant European safety standards (such as CE, EMC guidelines, Low Voltage Directive) and apply them to the design process.
• Collaborate with the product development team to ensure that safety features and requirements are embedded into product designs.

Master of Eliminating Risk and Hazard

• Dive deep into the design of our battery energy storage systems, sniff out any potential hazards, and zap those risks with your expert analysis. You're basically the Sherlock Holmes of safety, but with more gadgets!

Turning Boring Standards into Safety Gold

• Take all those complex European safety guidelines (CE, EMC, and friends) and turn them into something practical and useful for our team.
• You'll be the go-to person who magically turns legalese into design gold, working side-by-side with our engineers to build safety into every product.

Safety Sidekick to R&D

• Team up with our awesome R&D crew, weaving safety features and protocols into the DNA of our products. You'll ensure we're not just meeting the bare minimum—our products will be the safety rockstars of the battery world!

Guardian of Safety Documentation

• Develop and maintain all safety-related documents, including risk assessments and plans. You're the keeper of the safety scrolls (well, documents) that make sure we're always in the clear.

Test, Tweak, Repeat

• Keep an eye on safety performance during testing, tweaking things here and there to make sure we pass with flying colors. If something's not perfect, you're on it!

Oracle of Safety Standards

• You'll become the "Safety Guru" at Big Ass Battery, staying ahead of all the latest safety standards and regulations.
• Your colleagues will turn to you for guidance and wisdom (or at least some solid safety advice).

Collaborate Like a Boss

• You'll work with external organizations to ensure we're compliant with every safety certification and audit out there. Whether it's chatting with customers, suppliers, or certification agencies, you'll be our safety ambassador.

What do we expect you will bring to Big Ass Battery? (besides a cape)

You are curious, eager to learn and safety with a pragmatic view is your middle name! (or something similar ;-)). Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile;

• Engineering mojo! Whether you've got a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or a similar field, you know your stuff when it comes to system engineering
• Personality, drive and vision are more important than the number of years of experience, but a "proven track record" is nice to take with you!
• You're all about safety with a practical twist. You can see the gray areas in a world that's not black and white.
• Regulation Nerd (In a Cool Way): Knowledge of safety standards like the Low Voltage Directive and PGS 37-1 is a big plus.
• Regulation Nerd (In a Cool Way) #2: Knowledge of European product guidelines (CE) and EMC guidelines and product compliance and product safety is your thing
• Communication Superpower: You're just as comfortable explaining things in English or Dutch, and you've got a knack for making the complicated sound simple
