In Amsterdam, our consultancy projects focus on the Life Sciences industry, where we help clients improve their R&D-, manufacturing-, supply chain- and in-market performance. We offer a broad service line portfolio in business strategy, marketing & sales, digital & analytics, quality & compliance, operations, people & transformation, and sustainability.

To accelerate the growth and development of the Avertim business and Consultants in the Netherlands, we are currently looking for an Engagement Manager in our Amsterdam office. In this role you are responsible for both business development, client project delivery and people management, by facilitating our culture of excellence, learning and diversity.

Your role and responsibilities as Engagement Manager

The Engagement Manager plays a key role to combine business development and consulting activities. You will be a business developer at current or new Avertim clients and deliver new projects and manage the Avertim team at the client. You act as a trusted advisor towards clients and a strong people developer towards the Avertim team in Amsterdam.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are focused on:

  • Business development: Open new business opportunities with current and new clients in line with the Avertim 2025 strategy, by building trusted partnerships with clients and drive the commercial success of missions through effective budget management.
  • Project Delivery: Lead and manage projects to deliver impact (focus on realizing deliverables, managing milestones, quality, duration, budget, resources, ...), develop and manage more junior colleagues on projects. If required, you also develop relevant and required additional content, tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
  • People management: You manage and develop consultants on the project team or within Avertim via training and coaching. You also actively contribute to recruitment of new consultants.
  • Corporate involvement: You are an Avertim ambassador externally and internally. We expect you to promote and participate in Avertim’s internal communities and events and lead or participate in internal (expert) communities. In addition, you develop and deliver internal trainings.

Your Background:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, in consulting and/or fast-paced environment, preferably in the Life Sciences industry and/or on Digitalization projects
  • Strong skills in consulting project delivery, business development and people management, with proven experience. Excellent presentation & communication skills
  • You demonstrate strong commercial acumen, leadership spirit, and an entrepreneurial mindset
  • A Master’s Degree in either Business, Sciences, Engineering and/or Management
  • Fluent in English and Dutch
