Android Engineer

The customer facing part of our platform is the Ockto app and we are looking for an energetic mobile app engineer to build and improve our service offerings. Your challenge

We are at the forefront of digital innovation and are growing fast. We are looking for a motivated mobile app engineer who is impact-driven and can strengthen our development team. Together with our other engineers you will be responsible for upholding the highest quality standards for our mobile app and SaaS solutions that make our promise possible. This starts with the front-end, a native (and white-labelled) mobile app. You will play a critical role in the development of the mobile app alongside the product owner and other (QA) engineers.

You are the right candidate when you have a devops mentality and can demonstrate commitment towards continuous delivery. You are passionate about ensuring the highest quality of delivery, whilst incorporating highly secure techniques to maximise the operational excellence of each new app release. You will also take a proactive approach and encourage your colleagues to get the best out of themselves. Your will to succeed is balanced with a sense of purpose, ethics and humbleness that comes with the responsibility of handling a person’s most private data and knowing we’re not going to let them down.

About the Ockto platform

With the Ockto platform, a consumer can share all personal data necessary for a full digital onboarding. Our platform is secure, easy and trusted by both consumers and financial service companies like ING, Aegon, De Hypotheker, Justlease, etc.

Consumers collect their personal data via Ockto from government sources, banks and other secure data sources and securely share this data with companies that require it to provide a service. So they no longer need to provide personal data about their identity, income, assets, spending, etc. via paper and email.

About yourself

Who you are:

• Committed towards continuous delivery and DevOps.
• You are a fast learner who likes to think outside of the box.
• Have a flexible mindset, and natural curiosity that allows you to learn quickly about new technologies.
• Proficient in Kotlin with 2+ years of professional Android development.
• Experienced with Hilt, Coroutines, RxJava, and Jetpack libraries especially Compose for UI development.
• Can identify and resolve bottlenecks in the Ockto Android apps, rectifying bugs and enhancing application performance.
• Always implements and maintains unit tests on code.
• Stays up to date with new mobile technology trends, libraries, applications, and protocols.
• Fluent in English and (eager to learn) Dutch.

What are we looking for?

• A relevant bachelor’s degree.
• Experienced in Kotlin.
• Has a good understanding of general architecting principles and software design patterns.
• Has a good understanding of data- and software security.
• Demonstrably strong results in a Scrum working environment.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and initiative.
• Great communication skills.

Will be a plus

• A relevant master’s degree.
• Experience with End-to-End testing.
• Expertise in the financial services domain.
• Experience with TypeScript.
