We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern with affinity for digital media and technology to join our team as a SEO & Web Intern. In this role, you will focus on optimizing SEO, creating landing pages, monitoring performance and managing blog postings for multiple markets. You will work closely with our SEO manager, Content Team Lead and freelancers to drive organic traffic and enhance our online visibility.

This role of SEO & Web is based at our Amsterdam office and is a full-time (40 hours) position (32 hours can be discussed) starting around July 2024. We are a remote-friendly company, meaning you can work from home or any location in the Netherlands you want.

Please note: even though we are remote-friendly, we can only hire interns that are enrolled at an EU university and live in the Netherlands/are open to moving to the Netherlands, and hold a Dutch citizen service number (BSN).

What this role looks like

As the SEO & Web Intern you are going to dive deep into the world of SEO, keywords and optimization. You will work closely with different specialists in the marketing team and try your hand at project management with freelance writers. You will be supervised by the Content Marketing Team Lead and the SEO Manager

Your key tasks:

SEO Optimization:

  • Perform keyword research and analysis to identify opportunities for improving organic search rankings.

  • Optimize website content, meta descriptions, and headings for SEO purposes.

  • Monitor and report on SEO performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvements with help from the SEO Manager

Landing Page Creation:

  • Design and create engaging and effective landing pages for various marketing campaigns with help from the Content Marketing Team Lead.

  • Collaborate with the Designer and Project Owner to ensure landing pages are visually appealing and aligned with brand guidelines.

Blog Management:

  • Assist in developing and executing the content strategy for the Virtuagym blog in the core markets (Benelux, DACH and Spain).

  • Help the Content Team research and ideate blog topics and topic clusters.

  • Aid in keyword research for a data-driven basis for the content calendar.

  • Manage the blog editorial calendar together with the Content Marketing Team Lead, ensuring a consistent posting schedule.

  • Create briefings for our freelance writers and manage their production.

Content Creation:

  • With your native knowledge of Spanish, Dutch or German, you will assist Project Owners in developing, translating and localizing content for different marketing initiatives, such as for example emails, social media or PR.


  • Are a technologically minded 3rd or 4th year student (HBO/WO) in the EU pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • Have a strong interest in digital marketing, SEO, and website optimization and preferably some hands-on experience.

  • Have good English writing and communication skills, plus native level Spanish, Dutch, or German.

  • Are familiar with content management systems and SEO tools or willing to learn quickly.

  • Have an analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate insights.

  • Are organized and enjoying diving into details.

  • Are curious, flexible and like working together in an international team.

  • Bonus points if you have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS and an affinity for fitness and technology.
