Your role at VW&S

As an HR Consultant, your job is to help our clients work smarter, faster, and better. You work on external projects, optimising workflows and systems and running the day-to-day operational business. You are their go-to person for all HR-related topics and play a huge part in the HR strategy of our clients. Leading the projects independently, you guide your team towards a successful outcome. In addition, you work on improving our internal organisation and strengthening our services.

Most of the time, you’re working at the client’s office (hybrid). Besides, you often drop by our workplace in the heart of Amsterdam. Here, we gather to exchange views, and work together on projects and assignments!


Here’s what you’ll do
  • Operational HR assignments - Run the day-to-day business due to long-term absences or shortage of staff. Depending on the client's needs you focus on the HR administration, expat process, reporting, sicknesses etc.
  • HR Projects - Work with our clients on HR projects such as: implementing HR software (Personio; HiBob; HR2day; VISMA etc.), creating workflows for a new way of working for the (entire) HR department, IAM implementation, employee handbook, (local) policies, performance management, etc.
  • HR/Recruitment Strategy - resource planning, employee growth potential, employer branding, impact profiles, job profiles, etc.
  • Advise our clients – You advise clients on how to operate more effectively. You identify problems and obstacles, informing them on what works and what doesn’t. Next, you craft fitting solutions and follow up by implementing and managing new approaches. You maintain great relationships with our clients and keep a close watch on our performance—always on the lookout for improvements.
  • Improving services – You work on improving our workflows and services for our clients. You monitor the evolving landscape outside VW&S, spotting new opportunities. You identify structural internal issues at the client and transform them into improved work processes. Not afraid to give unsolicited advice, you proactively make proposals to boost quality and growth.

We are actively developing a dedicated team of specialists skilled in HR2day. Other things you should know
  • You’re free to choose whether you want to work part-time or full-time (24-36 hours/week).


We’re looking for you if …
  • You’re (all-round) experienced within HR.
  • Your heart is at HR.
  • You are curious to look inside different companies, to work for different clients and projects.
  • You have at least 3 years of work experience.
  • +2 years of experience in supervising and coaching teams is nice to have.
  • You’ve completed at least a bachelor’s degree in HBO/WO.

Your skill set
  • You’re a pro at or interested in becoming a strategic thinker, with a good understanding of the workings of our and client organisations. You have a keen eye for daily tasks and are interested in the wider goals of the organisation.
  • You stay calm under any circumstance and handle challenges creatively and constructively.
  • After considering all relevant information, you quickly turn words into action, ensuring long-term effectiveness.
  • You know how to communicate effectively with others and are great at building positive relationships.
  • You’re sensitive to organizational cultures and politics and know how to navigate them in a diplomatic way.
  • You enjoy taking the initiative and are passionate about what you do.
  • You attend to the wishes and needs of the client, without losing sight of the end result.
  • And last but not least—you’re a great team player and enjoy having fun!

Great to have, but not necessary
  • You know how to work with the working methods Lean, Six Sigma, Scrum and/or Agile.
  • Experience (as a functional administrator) with HR2Day, Visma and/or AFAS.
