We are seeking for a professional who is passionate about Sustainability and Environmental focused candidates to further grow and embed sustainable entrepreneurship at Royal Terberg Group.

In this position you will be reporting to the Group Sustainability Manager and join the Sustainability team (2fte). The Group Sustainability team is launched in 2023. With the arrival of the Group Sustainability Manager, priority Sustainability topics have been assessed, and a governance and roadmap laid out for the coming years. The first projects are up and running and they are now looking for reinforcement to realize this roadmap. You will work in various teams: the Sustainability team, the team of Group professionals, and various project teams with members from Terberg companies. You closely work with an experienced Sustainability manager who is proud to invest in your professional future.

This position has a broad focus, but one of the main responsibilities are setting up and initiate projects regarding scope 1,2,3. Furthermore your have knowledge in embed waste management, pollution, CO2 emissions etc. You will also be involved with other strategic topics and support the business with ESG and Sustainability related questions (what are the rules of the game?). Since Royal Terberg Group has locations globally, you will regularly travel to various locations within the Netherlands and internationally to support the business and maintain close relationships.

Key responsibilities:

The Group Sustainability Project Manager is responsible for actively building on Sustainability within Terberg, putting it on the agenda where possible without losing sight of the goals and strategy that have to be realized. The main activities are to initiate, organize and successfully deliver Sustainability projects that are on our Sustainability roadmap 2023-2027, to manage the Sustainability reporting process and to provide guidance and support on Sustainability for Terberg companies.

The Group Sustainability Project Manager will be successful if he/she is considered knowledgeable by internal and external stakeholders, sees people (colleagues) first before heading to tasks & data, and is able to deliver results in a work process that is appreciated by those involved. You bring character, fun and a pragmatic approach to the table in order to have all stakeholders invested in our projects. The Group Sustainability Project Manager reports to the Group Sustainability Manager and replaces her when needed.

Who are you?

With a MSc or Bachelor’s degree in sustainability or another relevant study, you have at least 3 years of experience in a Sustainability position, ideally at consultancy firm or an international organisation. You take responsibility and are pragmatic in your delivery, you initiate progress and get things done.

  • You have a relevant Masters degree
  • You bring knowledge of Sustainability, especially when it comes to Environmental topics and CSRD (or GRI, NFRD, etc.)
  • You have experience in the manufacturing industry, experience at an OEM company is a strong plus.
  • You have good analytical perspective and data management capabilities, with an eye for details
  • You are a mature sparring partner for all levels in the organisation with business sense
  • You have experience with setting up practical policies and procedures
  • You have strategic insight into how a global organization works
  • You bring a positive, forward thinking, resilient and problem-solving attitude
  • You have excellent project- and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent Dutch or English; when English - be prepared to learn Dutch
  • You are currently working and living in the Netherlands
  • Willingness to travel abroad, mainly in Europe. On average once a month, maybe more during onboarding.
