Do you have a background in tax, and would you like to further develop your skills in this field? Are you curious to find answers to questions such as what are the fiscal consequences if an employee lives in France and works in Belgium? Or, which VAT rate is applicable on our products in an EU country?

For our finance department, we are looking for a proactive (Junior) Tax Specialist. You will support the European organization with various types of taxes, such as corporate income tax, wage tax, VAT and customs, for all European countries.

The European organization of Applied Medical consists of multiple legal entities all managed from our European headquarters in Amersfoort (NL). You work in Amersfoort and report to the Senior Tax Controller. You work closely with many different departments, such as the finance and personnel departments.

Within Applied this position has the internal job title of Tax Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure tax compliance for corporate income tax, wage tax , VAT and customs
  • Support the personnel and payroll team in payroll tax-related questions
  • Support the finance and admin teams in VAT-related questions
  • Review income tax returns before final submission to governmental agencies
  • Proactively contribute to tax awareness in the organization
  • Assist in European tax audits
Functie-eisen:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Tax, Finance and/or Accounting
  • Knowledge of European Tax Law is required, with the ability to apply this knowledge to tax laws in different European countries
  • 2-3 years of work experience in an international tax department is preferred
  • Ability to analyze financial data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Good oral and written communication skills in another European language such as Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian or German are preferred
  • Knowledge of accounting is preferred
