Company Description

We are looking for a Service Desk & Facilities Specialist at SKIM! We are growing fast, so we are looking for someone who can join our Workspace Management team of 5 SKIMmers.

In a world of constant change, SKIM partners with leading companies looking to elevate their pricing, brand communication and innovation strategies with greater precision and certainty. For 45 years, we have been trusted partners to the world’s largest CPG, technology and healthcare companies. With 11 offices in the US, Europe, Asia and South America we navigate - in close collaboration and with our clients - towards strategies that are right for them.

We believe in a culture where smart, ambitious and genuine people support each other, follow their dreams, balance priorities in life and bring everyone’s unique skills together in a collaborative global community.

The Workspace Management Team

The Workspace Management team is responsible for the digital and physical workspace of all employees and for making sure all SKIMmers are well equipped to carry out their responsibilities. We operate a hybrid working model which means supporting employees in the office, but also online. As a member of the Global Workspace team, you will be collaborating with team members in Rotterdam and Atlanta. Together you will promote global workspace initiatives in 11 offices, across 7 countries. Our Rotterdam office currently has 140 employees and growing! You will be supporting our people to feel empowered by their work environment, the facilities provided and the space they use.

Job Description

You will play a key role in keeping our workspaces running smoothly and ensuring employees across all regions receive the support they need. Your main focus will be managing our internal service desk, which has recently been centralized across the US, LATAM, EMEA, and APAC regions. During Dutch office hours, you will be the first point of contact for employee queries globally—via chat and email—and responsible for resolving a wide range of day-to-day questions, particularly first-line IT issues. For more complex IT problems, you will coordinate with our external IT partner.

While the service desk and IT support will be a significant part of your role, your responsibilities extend well beyond that. Working closely with the Workspace Partner, you will help maintain the physical workspace of our Rotterdam office (140 employees) as well as support our London (25 employees), Paris (5 employees), Berlin (20 employees), and Singapore (20 employees) offices. You’ll have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of Facility Management processes and initiatives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the service desk mailbox and chat channels, ensuring timely responses and directing queries to the right people
  • Resolving first-line IT questions and escalating more complex technical issues as needed
  • Supporting the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees
  • Coordinating the seamless execution of in-house events, such as regional and global presentations, team celebrations, and client visits
  • Contributing to other Workspace Management initiatives or projects, such as our annual anniversary celebrations (SKIMday), office renovations, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) initiatives

There are also plenty of opportunities to grow. Over time, you'll have the opportunity to help professionalize the service desk—bringing in more structure, data insights, and scalable processes to support SKIM’s global growth. This isn’t an immediate priority, but a valuable area where your ideas and contributions will be welcomed.

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone with a proactive attitude who thrives in a hands-on, service-oriented role and takes pride in helping others with practical solutions. Whether you're at the start of your career or bring more experience to the table, what matters most is that you enjoy running a service desk and see yourself growing within this space over the long term.

We’re typically looking for someone with the following profile:

  • An MBO or bachelor’s degree and a strong interest in IT, Operations, or Facility Management
  • Comfortable with IT and tech basics, and curious to learn more—especially when it comes to solving first-line IT questions
  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
  • Willing and able to be in the Rotterdam office most working days, given the hands-on and people-facing nature of this role
  • Minimum of 32 working hours per week
  • Project management or process-oriented skills are nice-to-have, especially for those interested in helping to professionalize the service desk over time
