Area Sales Manager Sport & Play

As Area Sales Manager Sport & Play, you get energy from contact with customers. Maintaining existing relationships, attracting new ones, you do it all. And it doesn’t stop there, because you also make sure that customers receive appropriate advice. You don’t do this alone; you work together with the Sales Office and Application Engineer. You will be on the road, initially mainly in France and in consultation we will expand to other countries. You represent Schmitz Foam Products and sell ProPlay and ProField shock pads.

Where do you work for and what will you be selling?
Schmitz B.V. is a 4th generation family business founded in 1935 and operating from Roermond, the Netherlands. The organization consists of 3 divisions:

· Schmitz Foam Products – Sport & Play

· Schmitz Foam Recycling

· Schmitz Foam Supply – RoFoam

To further expand our market leading role, Schmitz is looking for an Area Sales Manager for the Sport & Playground markets with drive and passion.

ProPlay is a range of premium shock pads used as the base for particularly high-performance artificial turf sports fields, such as soccer, rugby, American football, field hockey, multi-sport and equestrian sports, and children’s playgrounds.

ProField is our newest innovation in shock pads. It will be one of your priorities to make a great success of its market launch in 2025.

ProPlay and ProField provide the necessary playing characteristics and offer players a safe and comfortable surface.

Your challenge

You will actively and independently engage in acquisition and working with clients. You will put ProField on the map and continue the success of ProPlay. You will represent these brands at local and international trade shows and networking events. No customer question is too far-reaching for you, and when you don’t have the answer yourself, you’ll link internally with the Sales Office or the Application Engineer. Together with the Commercial Manager, who is your supervisor, you define the most important sales markets and priorities for the priority French market and also for the international market.

You are

  • Customer-oriented and always thinks one step ahead in how to best serve the customer;
  • A strong personality to network in the chain of synthetic turf manufacturers, contractors, consulting firms, testing institutes and industry associations;
  • Commercially minded with technical affinity;
  • Communicative strong and knows how to present yourself with conviction;
  • A go-getter who likes to take initiative and dares to be critical;
  • Enthusiastic to travel and you can empathize with different cultures.

Your background

  • Minimum 5 years of international sales experience;
  • Completed Technical and/or Commercial education (bachelor level or higher);
  • Command of the English and French languages (conversation, reading, writing).
