Vacancy
As a (Junior) Project Engineer for the Driver (Linear Motor) Team at BlueHeart Energy, you will be responsible for designing and analyzing driver components, supporting the supply team, managing inventory, preparing tests, and coordinating the daily operations of the Driver Team. You will collaborate closely with suppliers and subject matter experts, reporting directly to the Driver Component Owner. A strong understanding of driver technology, including electromechanics, thermal systems, and fluid dynamics, is essential for this role.

This position offers a dynamic and multifaceted role where both technical expertise and effective communication are paramount. You will frequently engage with component suppliers and align your tasks and deliverables with colleagues and teams across the organization. A significant part of your responsibilities will involve interpreting test results and contributing to the design of new driver systems and test equipment.

You will be part of the Mechanical Engineering - Driver Team, a group dedicated to working on innovative projects. You’ll have regular opportunities to share your findings during sprint reviews, and every few weeks, you’ll meet with your direct manager to review ongoing activities and objectives.

“If you enjoy working with external stakeholders and find it stimulating to understand the interactions between individual components, then this is the job for you.”

Firsthand experience
“Together with R&D, you have gathered the requirements for a component and formulated them as clearly as possible. How do you continue in this process?”

With the established requirements, you will explore the market and visit various trade fairs in search of companies that can provide the component. For the companies you see potential in, you will initiate a conversation. During these discussions, you will review the requirements from BlueHeart Energy and investigate whether these companies can actually meet them. Through meetings, you will determine what a potential collaboration might look like and whether the company already offers similar products or if the component needs to be custom-made. Based on various factors, you will decide which company to partner with.

Growth
The career path at BlueHeart Energy is not fixed. The company expects to continue growing rapidly in the coming years, creating opportunities for everyone ready to take on new responsibilities. BlueHeart Energy offers training and courses, and knowledge sharing among employees is very important. The significant advantage of the startup phase is that initiative is highly valued, allowing you to create your own role. As BlueHeart Energy grows, so do you. BlueHeart adopted Agile working from January 2023, improving team collaboration.

Working at BlueHeart Energy
BlueHeart Energy was founded in 2016 to apply thermoacoustics as a technology in heat pumps and other applications as a replacement of compression technology. Thermoacoustics is a disruptive approach to generate heat and cold, with potential to revolutionize the whole industry. Over the past seven years, BHE has developed a thermoacoustic engine to power heat pumps and airco systems in residential buildings and other (industrial) applications. This so called 'Blue Heart' of a heat pump is sold to manufacturers. We are continuous improving the 'Blue Heart' with new developed and optimizations. As well we will develop different products over time. Besides this, we will set up our production facility, strengthen the relationships with our customers (OEM's and ODM's) and set up pilotprojects in houses and other (industrial) applications and monitor these.
