As a Continuous Improvement Lead at Nippon Express (Nederland) B.V., you ensure for all improvement initiatives the right methodology is applied and you coach and support the team by managing these initiatives. You act as a project manager and ensure the team is working towards the objectives set. Furthermore, you have a consulting role towards our customers to advise on potential improvement and coordinate these accordingly, as well as for new business requirements.
The position is an essential role in the realization of value through understanding of the business and applicable business processes, followed by identification, implementation and realization of appropriate and right solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Excellence
- Plan, organize and coordinate business process re-engineering or improvement projects.
- Identify opportunities for improving business processes and potential cost savings.
- Serve as coach who coordinates workshops and team training, share guidance and technical expertise and ensures that learning resources are available.
Strategy deployment
- Consult with customer to develop and maintain a direction for continuous improvement;
- Consult with internal management to develop and maintain our continuous improvement strategy;
Financial management
- Responsible for reporting the results achieved on process improvement and cost savings to ensure our targets and expectations are met;
Customer centricity
- Consult with the customer to identify, define and implement new business requests / continuous improvement initiatives;
- Keep track on all ongoing projects/initiatives and new projects to be scheduled and timely escalate potential issues.
Cross functional cooperation
- Collaborate with employees to improve efficiency, productivity and processes;
- Tracks and fully documents change for functional and business specifications; writes detailed universally understood procedures for permanent records and for use in training.
Effective Leadership
- Coordinate and lead projects or initiatives which lead to improvement in the operation.
Compliance & Safety
- Adhere to global compliance & safety policies
- Apply global compliance & safety policies in your day-to-day operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Operations, or a related field.
- Proven experience in process improvement, operational excellence, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Experience in leading projects and managing change initiatives.
- Proficiency in process mapping and project management tools.
- Strong communication skills in word and writing (English and Dutch)
- A proactive and results-oriented mindset, capable of driving change.
