About LION Protects B.V.
LION offers you a job where you can make a difference! LION develops and produces fire simulation systems for training purposes all over the world. These are used by fire departments, defence forces, emergency response organizations and industrial companies. From the Tilburg office in the Netherlands, approximately 60 employees work on the success of LION, where cooperation, doing what you promise, continuous learning, exceeding customer expectations, close customer relations and corporate social responsibility are of paramount importance.
The position of Automation Engineer
As an Automation Engineer, you are the link between the assignment and execution and make an important contribution to the project result. You are involved in the creation and development of designs for both the control cabinets and the associated software. You are also an important player in providing safe designs within the regulations and applicable standards.
On a daily basis, and preparing design specifications for the software programmer. You configure the software package, consisting of PLC and HMI, and design a safe control system by means of an electrical schematic combined with a cause-and-effect diagram. You perform calculations, checks and analysis related to manufacturability and quality assurance, ensuring that everything complies with applicable standards. You also provide technical support to other engineers, the Total Care team and colleagues in the workshop.
Ideally you can also create and review electrical schematics, perform the electrical calculations and identify the material specifications. When doing those works, you are involved in various activities in the ERP system, such as completing bills of materials.
Your profile
You’re proactive and comfortable working both independently and within a team. With a strong focus on customer service, you support both external and internal clients. You have a problem-solving mindset and are always willing to lend a hand to colleagues. Skilled at prioritizing tasks, you thrive in our dynamic environment, easily adapting to schedules and meeting deadlines.
You have a bachelor degree in industrial automation and several years of experience in a similar position. You are familiar with PLC programming via Siemens TIA Portal, and ideally EPLAN and Sistema . In addition, you have a good command of MS Office, and working with an ERP system is a plus. Finally, you speak and write English fluently and Dutch is a plus.
