Scope of the role:

As Financial controller, you are responsible for the daily financial operations, ranging from transactional processing to month end closure and preparing financial audits. Being part of a small finance team your role is crucial to the success of our company by ensuring correct, timely and complete insight into the financial position of the company at all times.

Your Responsibility

• The role of Financial controller can best be described in a few bullet points:

• Oversee the general accounting function, which includes General Accounting, Credit Management & Accounts Payable/Receivable, inter-company accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting and fixed assets.

• Accountable for ensuring that policies and procedures (internal controls) are in place to provide reasonable assurance that the company assets are protected.

• Ensure that company financial records, under responsibility, are maintained in compliance with company policies and Dutch GAAP. Responsible for reviewing monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and other documents to ensure this compliance.

• Tax reporting requirements (including CIT, VAT, payroll and other taxes), insurance reports and other reports required by regulation. Also dealing with tax related issues and meeting reporting requirements.

• Involved in validating/designing suggested changes to ensure accounting requirements continue to be met.

• Coordinates work relating to both internal and external audits in the periodic review of the company financial records. Is further responsible for the implementation of agreed upon recommendations, related to areas of responsibility, resulting from the audit findings.

• Ensures that the company’s assets are sufficiently insured.

• Provide guidance on financial aspects to junior and/or non-financial colleagues.

• In addition to the core responsibilities of the position, you will take a proactive role in updating and streamlining processes and workflows, leveraging IT tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

• With a keen eye for identifying areas of improvement, you will work as the operational right hand of the Manager Finance & Control, driving initiatives to optimize efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and cash flow within AME.

• As the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders on finance-related matters, you will support the business by addressing queries and providing guidance on a range of financial topics.

• Your contributions will play a vital role in aligning financial operations with the broader goals of the organization.

Who are you?

We’re looking for a finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment, possesses strong technical skills, and demonstrates leadership qualities. Ideally, you bring:

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in an accounting & reporting role.

• Have been end responsible for the Month end closing process within a manufacturing company.

• Relevant education on Bachelors level, preferably added with extra qualifications.

• Very good knowledge of SAP, BI and MS Excel.

• Proficient in both English and Dutch.
