Our client, GeoSoftware, a leading provider of software and services in the global energy and oil and gas industries, is seeking a Lead Legal Counsel with 5-8 years of experience in the software industry.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic company that operates in over 100 countries and dozens of verticals. The successful candidate will have the chance to take the lead on most legal matters, including data privacy, data security, commercial contracts, corporate matters, litigation, intellectual property, compliance and managing outside counsel.

What you'll do:

As a Lead Legal Counsel at GeoSoftware, your role will be pivotal in shaping the company's legal framework. You will be responsible for taking the lead on most legal matters pertaining to data privacy, data security, commercial contracts among others. Your excellent negotiation skills will be put to use as you negotiate legal matters and advise business managers across two business units. Your commitment to providing guidance on compliance with law and company policies will ensure the smooth running of our operations.

• Take the lead on most legal matters including data privacy, data security, commercial contracts, corporate matters, litigation, intellectual property, compliance
• Manage outside counsel
• Draft legal documents
• Negotiate legal matters
• Advise business managers across two business units on legal matters
• Provide guidance on compliance with law and company policies and procedures

What you bring:

As Lead Legal Counsel, you bring a wealth of experience from the software industry. Your ability to draft, review, revise and negotiate master agreements showcases your meticulous attention to detail. Your excellent time management skills coupled with your ability to work independently as well as collaboratively make you an ideal fit for this role. Your experience working across international time zones will be invaluable as we operate globally.

• minimum of 5 years of experience in the software industry
• Experience in oil and gas technology industry (recommended but not mandatory)
• Demonstrated skill in drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating master agreements, supplier agreements, and client contracts
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently and collaboratively with clients
• Experience in fast-paced environments and routinely working across international time zones
• Excellent time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
