We are looking for a Financial Controller who will work in the Finance Department. Our client is an international automotive company and mainly trades new cars to B2B clients across Europe. Their commercial activities (buying and selling vehicles) are supported by a small in-house finance team. We are looking for a new colleague for this team.

The challenge

In this position you will be responsible for a diverse range of financial activities, from bookkeeping to international coordination of activities and everything in between. The team consists of 2 Finance colleagues.

The job comes with a lot of autonomy and responsibility. It not only offers the possibility to coordinate the day-to-day financial operation together with the CFO. You are also in close contact with all the business stakeholders involved; from the owner of the company to an international sales trader, and from a buying manager to a logistic planner. For them you are the “go-to” in the finance department. A great job for any finance professional who doesn’t want to live in ‘organizational silo’.

You will be responsible for...

• Preparation and analysis of various reports on a periodical basis (for both internal and external stakeholders)
• Maintain accounting and administration for the various entities
• Review reports prepared by local accountants
• Perform credit reviews of (potential) relationships
• Ensure compliancy with local tax regulations
• Liaise with internal departments and external parties to ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of information

What kind of person are you?

• You have at least a Bachelor/HBO in Accounting or equal level
• You have at least 5 years of experience in an accounting or audit role
• You have a good understanding of Accounting Principles
• You’ve worked for an international firm
• You possess analytical and problem-solving skills
• You’re energetic, flexible and proactive
• You communicate easily on different levels
• You have a high proficiency in English. A secondary language would be a nice extra (e.g. German, Spanish).
