The Critical Environment Technician (CET) is responsible for the proper functioning of the relevant datacenter (DC) infrastructure. This is done by performing regular inspections, acting on alarms, providing preventive and corrective maintenance and installation support. The CET also supervises suppliers who carry out the maintenance and repairs. The CET contributes to the daily site operation, including creation and modification of site operating procedures, contribute to creation of change management tickets, provides input for timely incident reporting, administers work related activities, site maintenance and repairs/inspections to help ensure the highest level of availability in the datacenter. All in accordance with the relevant quality standards and adhering to the rules and regulations, in particular regarding to Environment, and Health & Safety regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and provide escort support for third-party contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, and service providers on site.
- Ability to follow operating procedures (SOPs) for critical environment planned work activities. After the CE Technical Training Program you will be writing procedures independently.
- (de-) Energize CE equipment (eg UPS, generator, CAHU etc)
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work and comply with all physical security procedures and policies
Required:
- Experience with electrical systems in a technical / industrial environment. Vocational level qualification (MBO level 3+)
- Knowledge of Electrical safe working practice
Desired:
- Knowledge of risk assessment
- Experience with ticketing and permit systems
- VCA
