Computer Vision / Machine Learning Intern

INTERNSHIP – HYBRID – ASAP (5 – 8 Months)

You apply your learning to analyze images obtained from greenhouse cameras. Based on physics principles, you develop a computer vision algorithm capable for optical characterization.

Who we are

FOTONIQ is set for advancing its greenhouse solutions with smart technology. Its diffuse coating PAR+ brings consistent diffuse sunlight all year-round, enhancing crop yields and improving energy use efficiency in glass greenhouses. We are a dynamic team with strong backgrounds in chemical and optical engineering as well as plant sciences to create the horticultural coating that can engineer sunlight in greenhouses. Besides conventional tools, we want to enable growers to better capture the value of the coating using image analysis in greenhouse, enabling them to embark on a digital transition while making smart choices with diffuse light.

We are currently developing a method to incorporate computer vision in the greenhouse lighting analysis. Based on the data, we will be able to better support our clients in their decision-making process to optimize their greenhouse climate. Therefore, we are looking for someone with a solid background in computer vision from his/her learning to apply it in a practical and innovative application.

What you’ll be doing

• Work together with other engineers and interns.
• Design and develop a supervised learning algorithm for image analysis.
• Combine physical principles developed by others for diffuse light characterization.

Who we’re looking for

• You are approaching the end of a Master’s degree in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Data Science, Applied Physics, etc.
• You have experience with computer vision and machine learning.
• You are motivated to start from zero, with a broad project scope and limited supervision.
• You have excellent communication skills in English (both written and verbal).
• Experience with light physics and/or camera calibration is a plus.
