To further build the world of tomorrow, Volvo Car Netherlands, located in Beesd, is looking for a


Commercial Digital Product Manager


to support us in our transformation journey towards an omnichannel company, with digital at the core of every process and product, providing consumers with an optimal experience of the Volvo Brand. This is a one-year contract.


What you'll do

  • Responsible for setting up and implementing digital product strategies, guide the organization through the discovery phase, investigate market needs, define possible digital solutions, and assess business viability, together with different stakeholders and in strong collaboration with the product teams
  • Work with our retailers to identify and implement customer-facing digital improvement opportunities (i.e. retailer websites)
  • Manage digital initiatives, primarily global digital products with local specifications where agreed
  • Become an expert on our Direct-to-Consumer digital solutions, like the Volvo Cars website, but also our commercial operations supporting products primarily based on Salesforce
  • Lead customer journey analytics with the objective of designing digital initiatives to improve customer experience whilst driving operational efficiency
  • Act as the expert on consumer data for both global and local products, and be able to transform data into valuable operational insights (i.e. customer behavior, sales, lead- and funnelmanagement)
  • Drive the analytics practice within Volvo Cars Netherlands, delivering insights to support commercial business decisions
  • Collaborate with business functions on how to use technology to provide new business opportunities and drive efficiencies through digitalization of business processes
  • Support implementing simplification through digitalization and replacing legacy digital products

This role reports to the Digital Director. With her having planned a parental leave, this role will potentially backfill the Digital Director position. This means for this period of time, there is an additional responsibility:
  • Be part of the Volvo Car Netherlands Management Team
  • Manage senior management stakeholders, both within the Dutch company as at HQ
  • Ensure continuation of the Digital strategy
  • Lead the Digital Team
  • Oversee all Digital areas: E-commerce, Analytics, Data, PowerBI, Robotics, Intelligent Automation, Architecture, Legacy landscape optimization, Application management


What you'll bring

We seek a Digital & Innovation Lead that is skilled in identifying innovative digital improvement opportunities on the one hand and can take on large complex product implementations on the other.
  • 5-10 years of experience working in a digital product development environment
  • Strong affinity with customer-facing digital products and digital development
  • Skilled in customer journey analytics and product development processes
  • Innovative mind-set focused at designing digital solutions to deliver on business opportunities
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and data driven decision-making
  • Experienced in taking on large complex projects
  • Brings positive energy, can-do mentality and appetite for transformation
  • Can communicate effectively to different audiences and has strong stakeholder management skills
  • Disposes of business acumen and focuses on business results
  • Experience working in a retail / e-commerce environment is an advantage
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is an advantage
  • Experience working with multinational corporations is an advantage
  • Experience from digital transformation consulting is an advantage
  • Fluency in Dutch and English in speaking and writing
