Introduction to the job

As our Manager Payroll - Europe you are going to make an impact in further improving all payments to our employees. You provide tactical direction, leadership, coordination, and oversight to ensuring alignment with organizational goals and driving success across ASML. Responsible for Europe, you are leading a team of 5 enthusiastic professionals in our ASML Business Services team (ABS). You describe yourself as a non-hierarchical people manager who should enable the mature team to operate as a high performing team.


In this role you will govern effective and efficient execution of the European payroll (including the Veldhoven Head Office). You need a strong focus on people leadership, and process improvement, with the ability to properly maintain relevant relationships with employees, line management and HR.


Role and responsibilities

As our Manager Payroll – Europe you are leading a team of 5 professionals. Together, you will be responsible for the execution of all Employee financial services activities. Your responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all aspects related to people management and effective execution of HR year calendar. Act as coach on personal development.

  • Evaluate the performance of team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing tactics to enhance overall performance.

  • Lead improvement projects within own scope and implementation.

  • Engages effectively with stakeholders from HR, Product/Process Owners and HR Expertise to understand their needs and expectations, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.

  • Initiate, lead and implement organizational (internally) change initiatives, guiding teams through transitions and fostering a culture of adaptability.

  • Responsible for delivery of change management plan and execution of the organization within scope.

  • Safeguard compliance to applicable laws and regulations (e.g. US GAAP, Local GAAP, Export control).

  • Ensure alignment to internal and external customer requirements.


Education and experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role with a connection to service/process/performance management

  • Knowledge across HR/Finance/Tax areas and how these are related.

  • Experience in leading cross team projects with a scope of <6-12 months.

  • Experience in managing resources, including budget, personnel and vendor management, across multiple teams.


Skills

  • You have the ability to manage a team in a non-hierarchical way.

  • You know how to thrive in a corporate environment.

  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

  • You are tech savvy and would like to learn more about IT developments.

  • LEAN knowledge will be considered as a big plus.
