THE OPPORTUNITY
We are searching for an ambitious, growth-oriented, food operations lover to join us as a Taqueria Crew Member.
You’ll bring the full spirit of Arredondos to successfully operate a bustling taco stand at a top Netherlands university. You’ll be an all-rounded operations-savvy, kitchen ninja and food lover. You’ll get to know all aspects of food ops and what it takes to create a successful, viable food business, whilst building multi-faceted operational skills and knowledge in one of the most exciting foods in the world. This is just the start for you and us...we hope to be a leader in Europe in bringing people discovery and delight in Mexican food (culture).
As a taquero crew member, you’ll be wearing multiple hats. You’ll be the quality and taste heart of the ‘cocina’ preparing food with the full authentic Mexican flavour, and assembling with a real eye for the details with excellent presentation. You’ll be key to overall operations, working at a fast pace, ensuring the stand operates to its full potential - serving hungry bystanders with pace, precision and passion.
What you’ll do (responsibilities):
Ensure food, kitchen & service quality
- Prep food items to the highest quality
- Make customer orders with pace, precision & passion
- Serve customers with enthusiasm and great 'cocina' knowledge
- Maintain exceptional high cleanliness across equipment and stand
- Act with high regard for safety
Ensure (military!) fast pace operations
- Ensure time management for being service ready
- Manage own assembly station/steps to meet peak demand - cooking/preparing to order (limiting customer wait times) and pitching in where needed
- Proactively top up prepped food supplies and ensure FIFO (first in first out) inventory use
Innovate for growth
- Continuously identify improvements across food operations for enhanced productivity and profitability
- Actively solicit & reflect on customer feedback and define improvements
Develop & train team members
- Train new employees in preparing Mexican food items
- Give regular ‘in the moment’ feedback
- Drive shared team learnings, openness and continuous improvement

What you’ll bring:
- Friendly, energetic and ‘go-getter’ attitude

- Passion for (or strong desire to learn) Mexican cooking and hospitality
- Business and operations acumen (e.g. spots efficiencies in assembly line)
- Passion for leadership and developing people
- 1+ year experience in Horeca industry / cooking experience desired plus
- Ability to speak English; Spanish speaking is a desired plus. Dutch - a bonus

Working hours and location
- Monday to Thursday: 6-8 hours day between 09:30-19:30, Fridays 4-8 hours 09:30-15:00 / 17:30. Hours depending on your role in the weekly rota
- Work location: two options: 1. De Boelelaan 1105, 1081 HV. and 2. Roetersstraat 11, 1018 WB Amsterdam, Netherlands
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 6 months
Pay: €15,00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 38 per week
