Fun place to work, but many downfalls

De nuttigste review volgens IndeedManagement had several stores to work in between, and was really only around when they thought there was something wasn't going right. Coworkers were almost always fun to work with, but poor benefits, poor work/life balance, no part-time positions available.

Equitable seems very uplifting at first, but almost as if it’s too friendly. I feel like it’s more pyramid schemed, where the higher you climb in the ladder the more you make and while your at the bottom no one cares. They give you a really low base salary and the rest of the money you make depends on you. Heavy certifications required that that isn’t worth what your getting compensated. Makes no sense for someone to take four certifications.

Advising is one of the hardest fields to break into, largely because you have no book of business, but over time it gets easier and significantly more financial rewarding in addition to less stressful. highly reccomend

Equitable has the capacity to be a great company to those who fully ascribe to the company’s beliefs. The idea of helping people secure their financial futures is noble. However, the greatest issues I’ve seen with the company revolve around management, sales practices, hiring and the new hire startup process. New hires are pressured heavily to prospect and sell. I doubt if they are able to really do what’s in the best interest of the client because they are trying to make money and stay in the company. Managers are always hiring to keep people in their pipeline and without advisors selling the company is not making as much money. Additionally, management is confusing at best. Your experience with one manager or Vice President can be lightyears apart from another. If you get a non-financial advising role then you may like it better. The benefits are good if you’re an actual Equitable employee. The culture is strange at times and I find that it’s best not to assume anyone is your friend just besides you’re on a team together or they’re your manager.

Tough environment to really make a good living as a new advisor. Advisors with existing book thrive. Great direction from management but if you don't make calls you will not make what you want.

I worked for Equitable as the Director of Marketing for a year and a half. I very much enjoyed the leadership team. I also enjoyed my duties as the Director. I managed recruiting, digital adoption, seminar's, event scheduling, working with Advisor's on their marketing. I created a digital newsletter, communicated branch marketing info out, and managed 4 other individuals who were the Digital Specialists. It was my first job in a leadership position.

I believe the company tries hard to make employees happy each and every day. Monday to Friday is a nice bonus so always weekends with family, dogs, cats, and horses!

The professionalism does not exist. The favorites ONLY get hired, some less than 6 months get hired, while people there for years still temp. The overall training concept needs to be revamped, receive 2-3 weeks for bare basics, but 1 hour for trading. Their systems crash ridiculously frequent. Their departments don't share information, it's like one speaks Spanish the other speaks French with neither one wanting to take responsibility for mistakes they both make. Maybe if I was hired permanent from beginning, I wouldn't be so eager to leave. BUT now with all the opportunities available with the EXTREME INCREASE in pay, permanent position is not worth it. Especially when you can increase your pay 35-45%. Only positive is experience.

Have massive potential for making money but very hard to build a book of business. Especially being 25. Need to have a networking plan and helps to have wealthy friends and family.

Equitable does offer great insurance benefits, PTO, paid holidays and job autonomy. However, they also provide mediocre training and poor job security.

The good is i was sponsored for the important series 7, 63 etc. the bad is that despite hard work and dedication, if you fail to make your quota you're out! I liked my team very much but if given a little more slack i would’ve closed more than required.

This firm does not invest in people. The organization is cannibalism at the core. Producers give up 50% of compensation to subsidize the management and can try to earn some back but are saddled with $900 a month in expenses and worst benefits in the industry. Managers are only paid $2,000 a month salary, $1,050 is a draw to bring them to minimum requirements of pay. There is no tuition reimbursement, maternity or paternity leave. Health benefits are major medical and 3x the cost of the health exchange. Only have a 401k with 4% match. If you’re looking at this industry, go to Prudential, Fidelity or Ameriprise. Great base salaries, paid leave, incredible benefits. They truly care for their people

Understand that this is an entry role for a financial advisor so compare that to its peers. I’m that vein, it remains very difficult to build a sustainable book, the first 3-5 years are difficult from an income standpoint. If you are a career changer or first job after college it is easy to get started and the road map and expectations they set are clear and accurate.

No room for growth… no raises… pay don’t match the work they’ll require from you . If you like metrics and someone timing the amount of time it took to use the restroom… this will be the job for you. If you enjoy taking calls back to back without being able to breathe this is the job for you. If you enjoy having to learn multiple skills but never earn compensation for doing so this is the job for you!

There is little room for growth and you are doing the same thing day in and day out. Management plays favoritism. Ever since the company went remote the training has been horrible.
